Elizabeth A. (Gosselin) Dorsey August 19, 1919 - October 21, 2019

Haverhill – Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Gosselin) Dorsey, 100, wife of the late William A. Dorsey, passed away October 21, 2019 at the Prescott House in No. Andover with her loving family by her side.

Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Francis X. and Ida May (Melvin) Gosselin. She attended St. Patrick’s Grammar School and Lawrence High School, graduating in the Class of 1936.Betty was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, dedicating herself to her family. She worked at the former Western Electric and in the 1970’s was employed at CVS in Haverhill. Betty was a long time resident of the Acre section of Haverhill, having moved from the Parish of St. Francis de Sales in Charlestown and she was a faithful communicant of St. James Parish for 75 years.  Betty was an avid reader, loved listening to opera, and enjoyed vacationing at Salisbury and Seabrook beaches. She also traveled to Hawaii to visit her grandson Devin and made many trips to the Red Sox Spring Training Camp in Winter Haven, FL with her beloved husband Bill. Betty will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty is survived by her children, Patricia A. Driscoll of Haverhill; Margaret M. DiVincenzo and her husband Dante of Bradford; her grandchildren, Devin M. Driscoll of Haverhill; Eric DiVincenzo and his wife Claudia of New York City, NY; Lisa Dyleski and her husband Robert of Derry, NH; Sarah Alfonsi and her husband Sean of Haverhill; her great grandchildren, Dante and Marcos DiVincenzo, Joey and Kelli Ann Dyleski; her sisters, Ida May Gosselin of Port St. Lucie, FL; Gloria Callahan of Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, William A. “Bill” Dorsey a retired Haverhill Police Officer who passed in 2005, she was predeceased by her son Michael J. Dorsey, her siblings, Raymond Gosselin, Rita Bode, Francis Gosselin and Richard Gosselin.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 24 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin Friday morning at 9:00AM in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill. Betty’s family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family, Methuen ICU and St. Ann’s Hall and the staff at Prescott House in North Andover for their kindness and compassion.
