Eddy Montero July 10, 1972 - July 27, 2020

Lawrence – Eddy Montero, 48, husband of Rose Mary Pereyra, passed away July 27, 2020 at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Santa Domino, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Luis Montero and Gladys Robles. Eddy came to the United States in 2001, settled in Haverhill before he moved to Lawrence, where he lived for many years. He met his wife Rose Mary and married on March 18, 2011. Eddy graduated from high school in the Dominican Republic and was a graduate of the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Dimingo, obtaining his Law Degree. After coming to the United States he was employed as a machine operator in Newburyport. He enjoyed traveling back to the Dominican Republic to visit family and friends. Eddy was a big sports fan, following all the Boston sports teams. He loved to dance and listen to Spanish music. His family was everything to him and he was a devoted, loving husband, father, brother and uncle. He was affectionately known to his nieces and nephews as “Tio Eddy” and was Godfather to many children. Eddy will be missed by many but never forgotten. Eddy impacted everyone’s life in a positive way, and he was loved by everyone, and is going to be very much missed.

Eddy is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Pereyra of Lawrence; his son, Alejandro Cortes of Lawrence; his siblings, Maria Payano, Elizabeth Montero, Luis Antonio Montero and Anyely Lara; many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Luis Montero and Gladys Robles.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, August 2 from 3:00PM until 6:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will be on Monday morning in the funeral home at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill.     I worked with Eddy at AUT/Innocor for many years. He always smiled when he spoke of his family, and was especially proud of Alejandro. The world will miss him.
