Julia Estelle (Quinonez) Young January 24, 1923 - August 5, 2020

Haverhill – Julia Estelle (Quinonez) Young, 97, passed away at Hannah Duston Healthcare on August 5, 2020.

Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Juan Martin Quinonez and Amina Quinonez. She was raised and educated in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from high School. After high school, she was employed with the United States Government in the war effort during World War II. Julia received many awards and was honored by the United States Army and Navy for her work. She also received an award and recognition of the Security Section of the Army and Navy. A recipient of the National World War II Memorial Award for her help during World War II, she was a true patriot. Julia worked at Emerson Radio and Phonograph Corporation after the war. She was the President of the Insurance Women’s League in Queens New York for over 25 years. Julia also worked for Bulkey and Horton Insurance until her retirement. After the passing of her husband Rodman W. Young, she moved from New York to the Merrimack Valley Area, to be closer to her family. A woman of faith, she will be remembered as a woman of commitment and patriotism. She set the example for everyone around her.

Julia is survived by her children, Ginger Ferrer of Manchester, NH; Steven Ferrer of Los Angeles, CA; her twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister, Fernanda J. Antonio of NJ; and several nieces and nephews. Julia was predeceased by her husbands, Albert Ferrer and Rodman W. Young, her daughter; Angelina Ferrer, and her three brothers; Ray, Sal, and John Quinonez.

    Dearest Ginger. I am truly sorry for your loss. I know how much you loved and cared for your mom, visiting her frequently and keeping tabs on her care. I am sure God has taken your mom home, into His loving arms. Be at peace, knowing that you will see her again when we all are together on the other side. <3
