Haverhill – Thomas J. Carifio, 80, husband of Marguerite A. (Arnold) Carifio, passed away September 21, 2021 with his loving family by his side.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ida (Gosselin) Carifio. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he attended Haverhill Trade School where he learned the trade of sheet metal fabrication and graduate in the Class of 1958.Thomas entered the military after graduation and served his country in the United States Navy from 1958 until 1961. It was while he was in the Navy serving in Virginia Beach that he met his wife Marguerite. They wed in 1962 and have been married for 58 years. Thomas was employed at the former Western Electric, the former AT& T and Lucent Technologies as a sheet metal fabricator. He loved dancing at the Knights of Columbus in Groveland and enjoyed fishing, gardening and 45 tournaments at the Elks. Known as a great cook, he also enjoyed going out to eat. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, and soon to be great grandfather, he cherished his family and time spent with them. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his loving wife Marguerite, he is survived by his children, Brian Carifio and his wife Kerry of East Kingston, NH; Kimberly L. Conklin and her husband Donald of Virginia Beach, VA; Carolanne LaFrance and her husband Scott of Eliot, ME; grandchildren, McKenzie Silva and her husband Joshua, Adam LaFrance, Cooper Carifio, Cameron LaFrance, Julia Conklin, Joshua Conklin and Zachary Conklin; sister Carol Carifio of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Andrew Carifio and grandson Harrison LaFrance.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, September 28 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday morning in the funeral home at 10:00AM.  Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery, Kenoza Street, Haverhill.
