Haverhill – Joseph R. Nicolosi, 87, husband of Liliane (Quintiliani) Nicolosi, who passed just 5 days prior, passed away March 7, 2022 at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Alfred and Mary (Panaro) Nicolosi. Raised in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1953. He played football in high school and had one of the best records as Quarterback. He was a member of the Sons of Italy as a Drum Major and was proud of that distinction. Joseph enlisted in the United States Army and served his country from 1955 until 1958 and was honorably discharged. He was the owner of Nicolosi Barber Shop on Washington Street in Haverhill for over 50 years. His barber shop was the first one in Haverhill to employ woman and eventually had 3 women barbers. They became affectionately known as “Joe’s Angels”. Joseph loved going to Las Vegas and Atlantic City and traveled with his wife Liliane and best friends all over the world. He was an avid Boston sports fan and loved to watch the Boston Red Sox, the Celtics and the New England Patriots, never missing a game. Joseph was a past President of the Haverhill Boys and Girls Club and a past Commander of Haverhill Bocuzzo Post. He knew everyone in town and loved by many. Joseph will be missed by his family and all his many friends. The family would like to thank Dana Farber of Methuen for their excellent care.

Joseph is survived by his children, Richard J. Nicolosi and his fiancé` Lisa Davey of Salem, NH and Dina M. Nicolosi and her fiancé` Charles Raskiewicz of Hampstead, NH; grandchildren Joseph, Michael and Tina Nicolosi; great granddaughter Vivienne Nicolosi; and many extended family.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, March 13 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Monday morning at 8:30 AM in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, North Broadway, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Mission Towers Resident Council, 180 Water St., Haverhill, MA 01830 C/O Deanna Ruth or Dana Farber Cancer Institute Merrimack Valley, 5 Branch St., Methuen, MA 01844 C/O Leukemia Fund.
