John was the son of the late John B and Beatrice A (Guertin) Cartier. He was born in Haverhill and attended St Joseph Grammar School, St James High School, and received an Associate’s degree in accounting from Merrimack College in Andover. John lived almost his entire life in Bradford! Married to Laura M (Amirault) Cartier for 70 years, he was the proud father of 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

John also wrote his autobiography at the age of 85 titled “An Awesome Life of an Ordinary Man: A Life Sprinkled with Miracles.” John reflected on his compassion for aging parents, raising 5 kids, changing careers, reinventing himself, downsizing and surviving cancer twice. John was very active serving his God at Sacred Heart’s Church in Bradford as a Eucharistic Minister. John lived his life with two mantras; “Jesus I Trust in You” and “With God everything is possible.” John always said that his wealth was his faith, his wife, his family and his friends.
