Marie Ellen (Maynard) Charron, 76 October 5, 2024

Merrimac- Marie Ellen (Maynard) Charron, 76, beloved wife of Paul R. Charron passed away on May 20, 2022 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a courageous seven and a half year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Haverhill, the daughter of Elmer and Ernestine (Crepeau) Maynard, she graduated from Haverhill High School in the Class of 1964. After high school, she attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where she was a proud member of the Lambda Delta Phi sorority; she graduated in 1968 with an academic focus on Biology and Anatomy & Physiology. Upon graduation she returned to Haverhill to pursue a lifelong career in teaching. For thirty five years she taught Science at Haverhill High School, inspiring countless students to pursue education and careers in the scientific fields. In addition to her students, she was an advocate for her fellow teachers and active member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association.

Upon retirement, she was able to devote more time to many of the things she loved most; gardening, playing the piano, and spending time at her condo in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; where she proudly served as the President of the Home Owners Association. She loved her family deeply, and was a devoted mother to her son Jeremy and daughter Allison. Nothing compared to her love for her family and the joy of spending time with them, but if one thing was close, it was her love for dogs. She will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched throughout her lifetime.

She is survived by her husband Paul R. Charron of Merrimac; her son Jeremy Charron of Portsmouth, NH; her daughter Allison Charron of Salem, NH; her sister in law Kathleen Poole of Haverhill, and her Cousins Lisa Dodge of Amesbury and William Crepeau of Plum Island.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Ernestine (Crepeau) Maynard, both of Haverhill.

The Charron family would like to personally thank the many Doctors and the entire staff of the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center Medical ICU Unit for their compassion and devotion. The Charron family would like to express their sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to Joan Willets who tirelessly brought Marie to her appointments for the last seven and a half years, her unyielding compassion will never be forgotten.

Dear Paul, my sister Francine called us to advise us that your wife passed away. I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I extend our sincerest condolences to you, Jeremy and Alllison. Losing contact with family is difficult. Sadly, as kids we enter adulthood and begin to lose contact as we enter the adult world. Have our own families. Know my thoughts are with you. Cousin Gene P.
