GROVELAND – Maude E. (Hardy) Cote, 90, of Groveland passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9 at Aspen Hill Rehabilitation and Health Center in Haverhill.

Maude was born in Haverhill the daughter of Charles W. and Vera E. (Ford) Hardy. She was raised and educated in Haverhill Schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1951. Maude was married for 60 years to her husband Paul, whom she met roller skating. She enjoyed word puzzles and was an avid reader, liked knitting and crocheting, and volunteered for Groveland Meals on Wheels. Maude was a Patriots and Red Sox fan, liked meeting with friends at Heavenly Donuts in Bradford every morning, and loved going on long Sunday drives and having picnics along the way, occasionally ending up in Canada.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Maude is survived by her children Paula Baillargeon of E. Baldwin, ME, Michael Cote and his wife Darlene of Kingston, NH, Alan Cote and his wife Cheryl of Salisbury, Linda Conrad of Rochester, NH, and Jeffrey Cote of Groveland. She also leaves behind her seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Maude was predeceased by her husband Paul A. Cote, son Gary Cote, daughter Sandra Cote, a brother Albert Hardy, and sister Thelma Morehouse.

    Very sorry for your loss, may she rest in peace. The Jones family. We were neighbors for many years, we lived at the bottom of Pond and Salem till moving to Washington Street above the Mill Pond. I fondly remember your Mom very sweet lady.
