Barbara K. Riley June 6, 1938 - January 18, 2019

Barbara K. (Brien) Riley, affectionately known as Nana, 90, of Haverhill passed away Friday, January 18 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.                                                                                                           Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late, Robert N. and Elizabeth (Kelly) Brien. She attended Medford Public Schools and was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1946. She began her career shortly after graduation as a telephone operator for New England Telephone & Telegraph until her marriage to George E. Riley on September 6, 1952. She then became a stay at home mom until her youngest began school. She was employed by the Haverhill School System for the next twenty years at the Haverhill High School Cafeteria.                                                                                                                                                               Mrs. Riley was a woman of strong faith, she was a devoted catholic and was an active parishioner of St. Joseph Church and All Saints Parish. She and her late husband George enjoyed sixty years of marriage. They enjoyed many years of traveling; including trips to Alaska, Europe, going on cruises, and day trips to Foxwoods. She also enjoyed card games with friends and doing crossword puzzles.                                                                                                                                                                                                                   The Widow of George E. Riley who died in 2012, she is survived by her loving four sons; James  E. Riley and his wife, Deborah Deem, of  Camarillo, CA, Thomas J. and his wife, Deborah (Dow) Riley, of Bradford, Robert K. and his wife, Susan (Schmidt) Riley, Tucson, AZ,  and William B. and his wife, Deneen (Porazzo) Riley, of Woburn, MA. She also leaves a granddaughter; Heather Riley and three great grandsons; Alex and Lucas Riley, and Jayden Johnson, and two nieces.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours on Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave. Haverhill.
