      Mercie M. (Daggett) Brooks, 86

HAVERHILL, MA

Mercie M. (Daggett) Brooks, 86, of Haverhill, died Saturday, March 6, at the Penacook Place Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.                                                                          

Born in Haverhill she was the daughter of the late, Edson and Mildred (Kelso) Daggett, and step daughter to the late, Anne (LaFoe) Daggett. She attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a Graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1941. She was Head Majorette at Haverhill High School, and later volunteered as Head Chaperone for the original V.F.W. Lorraine Post 29 Shoemakers Drum and Bugle Corps.                                                                                                                        

Mrs. Brooks was employed as the office receptionist at Penacook Place for over thirty years. She referred to her co workers as her other family. She also spent a number of years working at Cleary Cleaners and E-Z Way Cleaners in Haverhill.                                                                      

The widow of Peter G. Brooks, she leaves three daughters, Judith (Brooks) Livingstone, and her husband Keith, of Seabrook, NH, Linda (Brooks) Plourde, and her husband Richard, of Haverhill, Jody (Brooks) Waddington and her friend Gary Mazza, of Haverhill, six grandchildren, Tammy Sargent and her partner, Mary Beth Zambella, of Haverhill, Michele Sargent, of Marshall VA, Barry Sargent and friend, Lynette Gagnon, of Seabrook, NH, Nicole (Waddington) Hernandez, and her husband, Juan, of Haverhill, Therese Plourde, of Haverhill, Meaghan Waddington and her friend, Jay Rivera, of Haverhill, six great-grandchildren, Andrew Sargent, Hunter Sargent, Madisyn Casey, Isaac Hernandez, Victor “JJ “ DeAza Jr, Nevaeh Rivera, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Muriel Elliott, Dana Daggett, and Wilbur Daggett.                                                                                                                       

Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Monday from 5 until 8 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 9, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery Haverhill. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Penacook Place Activities Fund, 150 Water St. Haverhill, MA 01830.
