Haverhill – Madeline E. (Muse) Arvanitis, 96, of Andover, passed away September 1 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by her family.

Born in Wakefield, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Jessie A. (Campbell) Muse. Raised and educated in Wakefield, she attended Wakefield public schools and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, class of 1938. She was employed as a Secretary for Sweetheart Plastics in Wilmington for several years.

A devoted mother, she leaves a daughter, Noreen McCauley of Dover, NH; two sons, Robert McCauley and his wife, Arleen, of Palm Bay, FL and Gregory Arvanitis and his girlfriend Susan Cook of Raymond, NH; two grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind her companion of over twenty years, Walter Remeis. They enjoyed Sunday lunches at Fari’s restaurant in North Andover and watching the Red Sox.

The last of nine children, she was predeceased by her brothers; Arthur, John, William, Sam, and James Muse, and sisters; Mabel Hoskar, Alice Mahn and Norma Giles.
