Alice M. (Couture) Wormald December 4, 1939 - December 16, 2021

Methuen – Alice M. (Couture) Wormald, 82, passed away December 16, 2021 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington.

Born in Salem, MA she was the daughter of the late John J. and Julie F. (Mulrenin) Couture. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1957. Alice obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing from Northern Essex community College in Haverhill, her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from Salem Hospital of Nursing, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from New England College in Henniker, NH and a Master’s Degree in Education from Rivier College in Nashua, NH. She started her nursing career at Bon Secours Hospital in Methuen, then Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport, continuing to R.J. Reynolds Patrick Memorial Hospital in Stewart, VA where she started the Hospice of Patrick County in 1995. Alice returned to the Merrimack Valley area and worked at Family Service Home Health Care, Whittier Rehab, Visiting Nurse Association, Hunt Nursing and Rehab, Amedisys Home Care, and Blissful Homecare in various capacities. She was a caring and committed individual who was highly dedicated in her profession and in the care for others.

Alice loved to travel and she did all over the world. Her favorite place was the island of Aruba. Summers were spent on Big Island Pond in NH and Alice loved socializing with her friends. She enjoyed hosting many parties. Alice liked to dance and was a frequent concert goer. She was an animal lover, especially her Scottie dogs. Alice was devoted to her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Alice is survived by her children, Gary Wormald and his wife Denise of Ocala, FL and Jeffrey Wormald and his wife Sara of Hampstead, NH; four grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan, Corey, and Christina; two great grandchildren, Haley and Leah; and her sister Mary Fallon and her husband Edward of Danvers. She was predeceased by her son Michael Wormald and her companion Richard Talham.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, December 22 from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
