SALEM, NH: Alma C. (Boisselle) Comeau, age 100, formerly of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2021, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice in Reading, MA., surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Haverhill on July 12, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Albertine (Chagnon) Boisselle. Alma was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School. She furthered her education earning her Bachelor’s Degree from Bridgewater State University in 1942, and Master’s in Education from Salem State University. She worked during World War ll at Western Electric as the first women supervisor in the company’s history. Alma’s fulfilling teaching career spanned many years at both Peabody School and Greenleaf School. Following her move to Canada, she taught in Claire, Digby County, Nova Scotia. Also while in Canada, Alma entered real estate and was part owner of Robert Long Real Estate (NS) Limited, and Coastal Lumber Limited in Meteghan Center, Nova Scotia.
Alma is survived by her sons, David and his wife Helen of Sterling, MA, Peter and his wife Lorene of Palm Coast, FL,, and Phillip and his wife Sandra of Newburyport, MA; grandchildren, Scott, Leah, Andrew, Stephen, Nicoli, Jill; great granddaughter, Mary Pearl; brothers, Armand Boisselle of Cleveland, OH, Ronald Boisselle of Merrimac, MA, Arthur Boisselle of Raymond, NH, and sister, Janet Iller of Salem, NH. She was predeceased by her daughter, Claire Bond; siblings, Lucien Boisselle of Haverhill, Robert Boisselle of Roseberg, OR, and Camille Allwright of Lawrence, MA.
