HAVERHILL – Annemarie Rafferty, 59, of Haverhill passed away on Friday, January 3 at her home.
Annemarie, better known as Anna, was born in Haverhill on June 24, 1965, and was the daughter of George W. and Lucille A. (Nadreau) Rafferty, Sr. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1983 and then went on to study at Northern Essex Community College. As a young girl she joined the newly formed Haverhill Softball League for girls and helped the team at the Northampton competition with her strong throwing arm. As a single mother she cheered her son at Little League baseball, basketball and football.
Anna had a great sense of humor and spoke her mind. She commanded the room as she was strong willed and brilliant. As a hard worker, she was a waitress and bartender before working at Parkland Hospital, where she worked as a Licensed Nursing Assistant and Mental Health Technician and so much more. She treated patients with understanding and humor even when the joke was on her. She was appreciated by all who worked with her. Sundays with Anna were for cribbage games and these days were filled with laughter and joy; and all players deferred to her for her skill with numbers.
Anna was a devoted mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She is survived by her son Dominic J. Rafferty of Haverhill, as well as her brother Robert J. Rafferty and his wife Julie of North Andover and her sisters Mary I. Rafferty and Frances A. Rafferty. She also leaves behind a niece Falecia M. Porter and nephew Thomas P. Rafferty. She was predeceased by her brother George W. Rafferty, Jr.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, January 9 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.. Please visit Comeau Funeral Home on Facebook or www.comeaufuneral.com

January 7, 2025 at 8:22 pmAnna I have so many memories of working with you at Pub Bennys! So much laughter and love and complete silliness! I miss your laugh, you singing Madonna and when you dressed up as Mimi from the Drew Carey Show. I miss you going to divorce court with me -when I was so scared and when you made an atomically correct snowman for my young grandson, Joey. God speed my beautiful friend. Til we meet again.
