Haverhill – Candida V. Rosario – Rivera, 86, of Haverhill, Widow of Juan Rosario – Rodriguez, passed away Friday, April 22 at the Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill after a declining period of health.
Born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late, Juan and Consuelo (Moldanado) Rivera. She moved to Haverhill several years ago and worked in the shoe industry at Karelis and Allen Shoe Company for fifteen years. She then left shoe manufacturing and along with her husband they owned and operated Rosario’s Market in Haverhill for over fifteen years. She loved to travel and enjoyed cruises with her husband to Mexico, and Jamaica. While relaxing she always enjoyed a good telenovela. During her retirement, Candida returned to Puerto Rico with her husband and loved living on the island in Bayamon, PR and their country home in Aibonito, PR. A woman of strong faith, she was a member of All Saints Church.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she leaves three sons; John Rosario and his wife, Lisa, of Merrimac, Richard Rosario and his wife, Marrianne, of Weymouth, and Harvey Rosario, cherished grandchildren; Grace Rosario, Christopher Rosario, Zachary Rosario, and Paige Rosario, four brothers; Angel Luis Rivera and wife, Donna, of Haverhill, Orlando Rivera, of Florida, Luis Rivera, of Alaska and Miguel Rivera, of Puerto Rico, nine sisters; Lucy Rodriguez, of Florida, Iris deLeon, of Florida, Juanita Rivera, of Lawrence, Carmen Rodriguez, of Puerto Rico, Margarita Rivera, of Puerto Rico, Alicia Rivera, of Alaska, Migdalia Rivera, of Texas, Sonya Rivera, of Maryland and Isabel Rivera, of Puerto Rico and several nieces, nephews and Godchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers; Juan Rivera Maldonado and William Rivera.
Friends and family are respectfully invited to calling hours on Friday morning from 9:30 until 11:30 at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:30. Committal will follow at the Memorial Wall at Linwood Cemetery, Mill St. Haverhill.
