Diane M. (Sweeney) Burke, 73 February 6, 1949 - July 27, 2022

Newton, NH- Diane M. (Sweeney) Burke passed away early Wednesday morning in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Diane was born in Haverhill, MA to the late Edward P. Sweeney and Mary (Trainor) Sweeney. She grew up in Haverhill and was a graduate of Haverhill High School in 1967.

Diane and Tim met and fell in love living across the street from each other on 15th Ave. They married shortly after high school and soon welcomed their two loving daughters. Diane, Tim, and their girls settled in Merrimac, MA. Diane opened a jewelry business called Pagoda Jewelers and was very successful. She loved to travel especially to Jamaica where she and Tim made many memories.

Diane was the best mom, Nani, Sister, Auntie, and friend. She was the true matriarch, the nucleus of her family. She would light up any room when she entered. She loved everyone so unconditionally. She would throw pool parties every weekend and would welcome anyone to join. She was an amazing cook and never had an apple martini that she didn’t love. She will be missed dearly. As one of her family members said, “Nani was a legend and legends never die.”

Diane is survived by her daughters, Carrie Hayes and her husband Robert of Newton and Erin Forcino and her husband Jamie also of Newton.  She is also survived by her beautiful “cherubs” as she always called them Robert Hayes, Benjamin Hayes, Molly Hayes, Bridget Forcino, and Samuel Forcino; they were the center of her universe. She is also survived by her sister Jane Allen of Seabrook, NH, her nephews Michael Burke and his wife Karen, David Allen and his wife Jenn, and Christopher Allen.

Diane was predeceased by her Brother Edward Sweeney Jr. in 1973 and her loving husband Timothy E. Burke in 2008.
