Diane P. McCorry September 17, 1957 - March 20, 2020

Diane Patricia McCorry was born and raised in Medford, Massachusetts, where she attended St. Clements School along with her five siblings Patricia, Gail, Michael, James, and Kathleen.

As a single mother, she raised three daughters in her image: Brianne Eastwood, Danielle Smith, and Katelyn Auclair; and nieces Julianna (Mogé) Hooper and Serena Mogé.

As an administrative assistant, she dedicated her life to her children and education, earning her Master’s Degree in Education in 2005 from Cambridge College. She then taught elementary school in Massachusetts, The Bahamas, and Florida. She loved to travel and meet new people, enjoyed playing pool, spending time with her “peeps”, going for walks and hunting for sea shells at the beach, crafting and making jewelry, reading, watching movies with her family, and visiting her beloved grandkids.

She was opinionated and outgoing, and loved to help others, especially children and veterans, volunteering and spending her free time at her local VFW.

Diane was proud of her children and loved her grandkids more than anything, FaceTiming them constantly and sending each grandchild a package for every single holiday. Her greatest accomplishment was being “Mermie” to Sawyer James, Eleanor Genevieve, Tallulah Dorothy, and Emmeline Juliette, with another granddaughter due in June. She spent every summer vacation visiting with her daughters, watching her grandchildren, and barbecuing with her son-in-laws Matt Eastwood, Tommy Smith and Mike Auclair.

The beautiful and fierce Diane McCorry will be forever missed by many family, friends, and students. She lived her life fully and took many adventures. She was smart, sarcastic, and funny.  Diane would light up any room with her sparkling eyes, unforgettable smile, and contagious laugh.

She left this world in the same way she lived her life, boldly and unexpectedly. We are all better people for having known her.

With love and sympathy from your Maryland cousins!

Your mom touched and enriched our lives in more ways than we can count and as far back as we can remember.

She was indisputably “one of a kind” and we will miss her, very, very much! I know we can’t be there to share and comfort you in this time of loss, but know our love and prayers are always with you!

I still think of Diane often. She was always such a supportive friend who loved celebrating big moments! She was so sweet and thoughtful, and I am forever grateful that my first daughter had the chance to meet her briefly. I just had my second daughter last week, and I so desperately wanted to be able to pick up the phone to tell Diane all about the experience. I cannot even begin to imagine how her family is coping. Much love to everyone of her “peeps” left behind x
