Donald B. Prescott September 20, 1934 - December 2, 2020

Plaistow, NH – Donald B. Prescott, 86, husband of E. Suzanne (Gauthier) Prescott, passed away December 2 at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Haverhill, Donald was the son of the late Carl W. and Jennie M. (Nickerson) Prescott. He was predeceased by his sister Marvis (Ryan) and brothers Carl, Kenneth and Raymond. Raised in Haverhill, he attended Haverhill High School and graduated in 1952. He excelled in basketball, winning many city 21 tournaments, and baseball.  Donald served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, was honorably discharged and then attended Merrimack College.  He was employed as a supervisor at the former Western Electric, now AT&T, for 34 years until he retired in 1989. He raised his family in Groveland. Don and Suzanne enjoyed spending winters with friends in Naples, FL.

He enjoyed playing golf, billiards and cards, and took pride in coaching his sons in baseball, where his teams won multiple championships (which he reminded us many times.) What brought him the most enjoyment was spending time with family, especially Suzanne and gatherings with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife of 64 years, he is survived by son, Gary and his wife Lynne from Palm City, FL, son Stephen and his wife Lauren from Merrimac, MA. Grandchildren Sara, Zachary, Shawn and his wife Jen, Jeffrey and his wife Ashley along with great-grandchildren Brendan, Lillianne, Breanna and Jackson and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Merrimack Valley Hospice and Home Health team for all their support, in addition to family and friends for their assistance.

Services will be held for the family at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill on Saturday at 11:00 AM on December 5. Friends and family are welcome to attend the burial in Riverview Cemetery, Main Street, Groveland after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Special Olympics Massachusetts in Don’s name.  Please visit Comeau Funeral Home on Facebook or www.comeaufuneral.com
