Dorothy R. (Lacey) Riley August 11, 1926 - February 28, 2022

Plaistow, NH- Dorothy R. (Lacey) Riley, 95, wife of the late William C. Riley, Jr., passed away February 28, 2022 at Hannah Duston Healthcare in Haverhill.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Rose M. (Jordan) Haggerty. She attended St. James Grammar School and was a graduate of St. James High School. Dorothy continued her education at Lowell State Teachers College where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She went on to obtain her Master’s Degree at Boston University with many credits beyond. She was employed in the Haverhill Public School System for many years, teaching at Moody School and then serving as guidance counselor at the Dr. A. B. Consentino Middle School. Dorothy loved to travel and spent time all over Europe. She was a member of the Teachers Bowling League, a board member of the Haverhill Teachers Credit Union, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, going out to eat with friends and family, and Sunday dinners at home. She treasured her summers in Salisbury Beach every year. Dorothy had a sense of humor and loved to read. She was dedicated to her loving family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dorothy L. Donohoe of Haverhill; her grandchildren; Jennifer L. Donohoe, Billy T. C. Donohoe, Maryann R. Donohoe, Jason P. Riley, Mindy L. Riley, and Kelly Solimine. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her sons Kevin W. Riley and Brian C. Riley, as well as her step father Charles E. Haggerty.

 

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
