Date of Funeral

February 4, 2024

HAVERHILLEdward R. Brewster, 61, of Haverhill, passed away on January 31st surrounded by family and friends at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

Edward was born in Queensbury, NY to Ruth Lawrence Whible and Stanley Brewster. He was raised by his mother and step-father Augustus Whible and grew up on the mountain of Glens Falls, NY and was a graduate of Lake Luzerne High School, Class of 1981. After high school Edward went into the US Air Force, attending Basic Training and Tech school at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. He got stationed in Portsmouth, NH at Pease Air Force Base where he met his wife Susan through her brother Scott. They had a quick romance and were married on January 12, 1984, and recently celebrated 40 years of marriage.

He worked numerous jobs: he was a cook, worked in construction, worked at United Paper as a delivery driver; his latest job was a cook at Merrivista Nursing Home where he enjoyed serving the community very much.

He was an avid sports fan; loved the Red Sox since he was 10 years old when his stepdad gave him an AM/FM radio to listen to the games. He always said he would move to Boston and work for the Red Sox. That dream actually came true in 2013 when he worked as a tour guide for the Red Sox. He absolutely loved that job and it was the best experience of his life. He was also a diehard Indianapolis Colts fan. He loved Star Wars and Star Trek and going to the movies. He enjoyed listening to music, going to the beach and cherished all the times he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He would always be there for anyone who needed to talk or needed a good laugh. He will truly be missed by all that loved him; he was an amazing, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his loving wife Susan Lynn (Corthell) Brewster, his 3 children Joshua and wife Amanda Brewster, Jacqueline Brewster and her partner Henry Durst, and Jessica Brewster; five grandchildren, Evan, Jennifer, Shamous, Levi and Charlotte, and his surrogate daughter Jessica Marsinelli. He is also survived by his brothers Stan Brewster, Michael Loveland, and Jon and his wife Dee Whible, and Charles Brewster; and his sister Edna Brewster Duffy. He leaves behind a loving mother in law Joann Corthell, brother in law Scott and wife Michelle Corthell, brother in law Keith and wife Andrea Corthell, brother in law Richard Corthell, sister in law Charron Corthell Dean, brother in law Daniel and wife Becky Corthell, sister in law Ann Corthell and her partner Dave Spencer. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, his best friends Patrick Perkins and Daniel Crowley and many other friends; and his Uncle Bob Lawrence and Aunt Judy Lawrence, with whom he had a special relationship.

Edward was predeceased by his mother Ruth Lawrence Whible, father Stanley Brewster and stepfather Augustus Whible; his brother in law David Corthell, brother Wayne Brewster, surrogate daughter Karla Ann Allen, and father in law Sidney Corthell.
