Eugene Adams, 73 November 9, 1949 - January 23, 2023

Eugene (Gene) F. Adams, 73, son of the late Leonard and Anne (McDonald) Adams, died on January 23 at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston.

Eugene was born in Bronx, NY and later resided in Wellesley, Ma with his family. He graduated from Wellesley High School in 1967. While in his senior year in high school, he attended the General Motors Training Center. Gene spent most of his childhood with his dad at the Wellesley Fire Department, where his dad was a mechanic for many years. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1968. He finished his tour in Germany as an E5 Sgt in the Aircraft Maintenance field in 1971. Gene loved being able to travel throughout his tour and reminisced quite often of those days.

Shortly after returning home from the military, Gene got involved with auto racing and raced at the old Norwood Arena, eventually becoming the president of the New England Mini Modified Association (N.E.M.M.A.). The club traveled around the northern east coast and raced at Beechwood, Lakeville, and Lee Raceway in Lee, NH, just to mention a few.

After several mechanical and engineering jobs over the next few years, Gene got married and raised his family in Haverhill, Ma. In 1990, he jumped on the chance to own his own business and purchased Deminie Machine, also in Haverhill. His work there consisted mostly of prototype and repair jobs. There wasn’t anything that this man couldn’t fix, and that includes cars, being a trained GM mechanic. He owned the shop for 25 years. While working there he obtained his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying as often as time and funds would allow. Gene also ran a small auto repair shop from home and had a small construction company that he and his long time friend owned for a short time. Gene then retired in 2015 shortly after his wife, Virginia passed away.

Gene is survived by his sons Dennis Dube and his wife Bernice of Waltham, David Adams and his wife Diane of Haverhill, Michael E. Adams of Haverhill, Dale Adams and his fiancé Elsie Colon, and his daughter Darlene Golden of Hampstead, NH. He is also survived by his sisters Virginia Baumiller of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Carol Adams of Foxboro, MA. His family also consists of his niece, Whitney Baumiller, and nephew Adam Baumiller both of Myrtle Beach South Carolina, grandchildren Kayla Adams, Alyssa Adams both of Derry, NH,

Derek Dube of Waltham, Danielle Piantedosi and her husband Paul of Watertown, Ma, Steven Cullinane of Haverhill, Nicholas Adams and his fiancé Danelle Woodman of Fremont, NH, Jason Adams and his fiancé Jessica Hunt of Haverhill, Ma, Christopher Adams of Haverhill, Ma, Michael Adams and his wife Melissa of Newton, NH, Justin Adams and his wife Theresa of Haverhill and Amanda Adams and her husband Derek of Haverhill. Gene also leaves behind twenty-one great grand children and three great, great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Virginia A. Adams and his sister Ellen Adams.

We all love you very much Dad and you will be, and are sadly and strongly missed by us all. Thanks for everything Dad, Love you
