Lowell, VT – Long time resident of Hampstead, NH, Jacquelyn Patricia (Hunt) McCusker, 88, wife predeceased by her husband, Arthur F. McCusker, Jr., passed away February 20, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Haverhill, MA, she was the daughter of the late William Hunt and Ernestine (Faucher). She was a graduate of University of Nevada with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and went on to teach at Sanborn Regional High School. In retirement she spent many winters with her husband, Arthur, in Zephyrhills, FL.
Known to everyone as Grammy, she was more than just a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend – she was the life of the party and the spark that ignited joy at every gathering. With her infectious smile, quick wit, and humor, Jackie turned ordinary moments into extraordinary ones.
Her passions were far and wide, from volunteering at Brentwood Nursing Home, being an active member of Saint Anne’s Church, a campfire girl’s leader, a red hatter, and a race secretary, to avidly reading, puzzling, dancing, and crocheting for every occasion. Grammy was the #1 sports fan of her grandchildren’s activities and could always be heard encouraging “You can do it!” loudly from the stands. Time at the beach with her family was one of her favorite things, especially when sharing lobster and ice cream together.
She is survived by his daughters, Sherry Bell and her husband Don of East Hampstead, NH; Kathleen Schofield and her husband James of Lowell, Vermont and Jacquelyn O’Brien and her husband James of Salem, NH; grandchildren, Brandon and Conor Bell, Kevin Quinn and Kelsey Murphy, Fiona, Ryley and Noah O’Brien, Michael and Allison Schofield; Great grandchildren Julian Schofield, Luke Murphy and Charleigh Quinn. She was predeceased by her sister, Clara-Edith Ward.
