James A. Paley September 27, 1942 - October 5, 2022

James A. Paley, 80, of Haverhill died Wednesday, Oct 5th, at High Pointe Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.

James was born in Cambridge, MA., on September 27th 1942 and was the son of the late Herb and Shirley (Goldberg) Paley.

James was raised in Haverhill and graduated high school. He proudly served in both the US Army and Air National Guard retiring in 1994. He was employed by Gillette for 41 years and retired in 2002. After retiring from Gillette he worked in the Haverhill school system as a crossing guard for 12 years.

In his spare time he enjoyed gardening with his wife, planting tomatoes, boating, fishing, doing many projects in his yard and relaxing in the sun. In his most recent years he loved spending winters in California with his son and family. He did not miss dealing with the snow.

James was predeceased by his wife Suzanne (Gallant) of 40 years. He was the loving father of his son Jonathan and his wife Tara of Temecula CA and his daughter Lisa Quintiliani and her husband Frank of Hampton NH. He was the brother of Jane P. Lord of Portland ME. He was the cherished grandfather of Lila and Talia Quintiliani, and Julia and James Paley. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family is eternally grateful for Elder Services of Merrimack Valley, Meals on Wheels, Hospice Services Of Massachusetts and High Pointe Hospice House and Versie Etheridge.
