BRADFORD – Jean D. (Damphousse) Mitchell, 87, of Bradford, passed away on Monday, November 20, peacefully at her home.
Jean was born in Haverhill on October 19, 1936 to Charles E. and Loretta C. (Frenier) Damphousse. She was educated in Haverhill public schools, receiving her high school diploma in 1976. Jean was a strong, independent woman. In her younger years she enjoyed dancing and bowling in a league. She was a member of the American Legion, Post 34 Auxiliary, where Jean and her sister ran many raffles and events. She enjoyed spending time at Bingo and Friday night Raffles. Christmas was her favorite holiday and no amount of decorating was ever too much for Jean.
Jean is survived by her children Joyce Monteiro, of Bradford, Benton “Mike” and his wife Carolee White, of Deerfield, NH, Rene and her husband William Cantwell, of Haverhill, Marlene and her husband Brian Tilton, of North Carolina. Jean also leaves behind her grandchildren Meghan and Marc Sheehan, Andrea and Ryan Fisher, Jessica and Chris Kroski, Jay and Erika White, Jennifer and Aaron Eastman, Benjamin and Lauren Cantwell, Rachel Wilkes, and Daniel Wilkes; seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Claire and her husband Robert Tebo.
Jean is predeceased by her parents Charles E. Damphousse and Loretta C. (Frenier) Damphousse-Dingman, her stepfather Gordon Dingman, brothers Robert and his wife, Isabelle Damphousse, and Paul Damphousse, her twin sister Janet and her husband, William Graham, and a nephew Barry Rossetti.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, November 28 from 4PM until 7PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 29 at 10AM at All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill. Burial to follow at Plaistow Cemetery, Elm St. Plaistow, NH.
