Haverhill – John A. Marcinonis, 67, passed away August 28, 2019 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boston with his loving family by his side.
Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Claire M. (Pendergast) Marcinonis. Raised and educated in Lawrence he attended Central Catholic High School, graduating Class of 1970. He attended Lowell Tech, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree, Class of 1974. John worked in many different professions including Gould Medicon in Andover and owned his video store in Plaistow, NH. After retirement he was employed at Howie Glynn and Son Convenience Store, a job he enjoyed immensely, particularly for his daily interactions with his customers and their pets. He was known as a very funny, social and generous man who loved being around people. John was looking forward to meeting his first grandson in January of 2020. He loved kids, dogs, Seinfeld and his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his two sons, James P. Marcinonis of Temecula, CA; Michael A. Marcinonis and his wife Natalie (Ryan) of MA, and his two grand dogs, Doug and Newman; his sister, Maryann Lane and her husband David of MA; his two nieces, Jaime Lane and her husband Chris of MA; Kelly Collins and her husband Brian of MA; and two great nephews, Lane and Gray; many friends and extended family. He was predeceased by his former wife, Diane S. (DeRoche) Marcinonis.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, September 1 from 2:00PM until 5:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. August 31, 2019 at 12:04 amI’m so sad to be reading this. Jack was a very funny and caring guy. He raised two great sons that he spoke highly of every time I would see him. Jack he must have been so excited knowing he had a grandson on the way. I could see him babysitting, just like he did with Mike’s dogs. He loved dogs 🐶 just as much as people. The last big adventure we took with Jack was Kayaking in Lincoln. He had us all in stitchers because he had a hard time getting into it. He was family, my brother in law and an uncle to our kids. So sorry for your loss Mike and Jimmy. He’ll be truly missed😢

September 1, 2019 at 2:43 pmJack will be missed by all of us at Howie Glynn and Sons and B&H Oil Co. Inc. He was an asset to our business, but more than that he was a friend to all of his co-workers. He was dedicated to his job and the customers, and their pets, all loved him. Jacks passing has let a void with all of us. May he rest in peace.

His name brought back a lot of fond memories of your family and the days playing volleyball down at the park with Jack.We also got enough exercise walking to CCHS and back home and talk about who was going to get a car first . So sorry for your loss.

September 9, 2019 at 2:13 pmSo many days Jack turned my morning around with his bright smile, small jokes and positive attitude. He was a little bright spot on so many days and when I found myself teary eyed after grabbing some coffee at Howie Glynn’s and hearing of his passing realized he was the living example of the concept ” the little things you do in life really matter”. I am example of one of the hundred random “young ladies” he chatted with everyday and on behalf of all of us I send or condolences
