Haverhill – Julio Gomez, 77, husband of Elisa (Maisonet) Gomez, passed away April 2, 2019 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Eufracio Gomez and Demencia (Cora) Gomez. Raised and educated in Puerto Rico, Julio immigrated to the United States when he was in his 20’s and lived in Nashua, NH. He moved to Haverhill, living here for over 40 years and raised his family in Haverhill. Julio worked in agriculture most of his life in Puerto Rico and the United States. He was known for his cooking and holiday celebrations. A devoted family man, very religious, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his loving wife Elisa, Julio is survived by his children, Julio Gomez and his wife Alysia Spooner Gomez of Plaistow, NH; Jose Perez of Haverhill; Osvaldo Gomez of Lawrence; Elizabeth Perez of Haverhill; Luz Bernabe and her husband Marco of Mexico; Zenaida Perez of Haverhill; Blanca Iris Gomez of Florida; brothers Domingo Gomez, Salvadore Gomez and sister Raquel Gomez, all of Puerto Rico; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
