Haverhill – Julio Gonzalez, 77, husband of Aida (Nieves) Gonzalez, passed away December 23, 2020 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Juan Gonzalez and Rosa Grajales. Julio was raised and educated in Puerto Rico. He was employed as Administrator of General Services for the Puerto Rican Government until his retirement. Julio moved from Puerto Rico to the United States in 2017 and settled in Haverhill. For many years he traveled here to visit family and friends before moving. He enjoyed watching old western movies and loved to go to the Encore Casino in Everett. Julio was a devoted family man, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved spending time with his family. All who knew and loved him will miss him dearly.
In addition to his loving wife Aida, he is survived by his children, Luis Gonzalez and his wife Maria Rivera of Haverhill; Nelson Gonzalez of Haverhill; Julio Gonzalez and his partner Auria of Haverhill; four grandchildren, Eliezer Gonzalez and Rachel, Emily Gonzalez, Michael Gonzalez, Melissa Gonzalez and Percival; three great grandchildren, Yan, Zaiden, Raziel; brother, Efrain Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, sisters, Judith Gonzalez of Haverhill and Lucy Gonzalez of Puerto Rico; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, December 28 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
