Karen A. Dooley, 68 passed away on May 3, 2025 peacefully at her home under hospice care in Groveland.

Karen was born in Boston on June 13, 1956, the daughter of John and Ann (Sheltry) Dooley. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Prepatory High School, Class of 1974 and then went on to study at Suffolk University and then received her Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Nursing from Boston College in 1978. She worked for many years as a teacher of nursing at Salem State University, as a Nurse Practitioner at Mass General Hospital and Director of Nursing at BayRidge Hospital, and also had a private practice. A vibrant, enthusiastic nurse, Karen was devoted to her life’s work helping people overcome addiction and deal with mental health issues. She helped countless numbers of patients and was loved and will be missed by many. She was also an avid scuba diver and enjoyed countless scenic trips riding Harley Davidson motorcycles with her husband Paul throughout New England.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 20 years Paul V. Thomas of Groveland, her sister Caroline and Bob Dooley, Godmother Katherine Nolan, and her brothers Philip Dooley and Jake and Pam Dooley. Karen will also be missed by many friends, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Anne Dooley, and her brother Joe Dooley, Sr.
