The passing of my Friend Lewis leaves a tremendous hole in our world and in my heart. I can honestly say that the world is a better place because of this dear Man’s existence. I worked the late shift with Lewis and was the last colleague to talk to him the Friday before his passing. Walking out to the parking lot to our cars we spoke of what shift we might take in our upcoming bids. We talked about the toll it took (working until 10:pm) on our Family life and selecting an earlier shift would allow us more quality time with our loved ones. How important that was to us both. We parted with a nonchalant “see ya tomorrow” which would never be. I counted Lewis as someone most dear. He was one of the first people who trained me at the MVRTA and I was immediately impressed with his professionalism, his easy smile and quickness to laugh. He was truly Joy personified. I was away on vacation when his services were held, otherwise I would have been there to pay my respects to this great Man and to console his Family. I will always remember Lewis fondly and his Family remain in my Prayers.
