Louisa M. (Holt) Sullivan November 17, 1929 - March 1, 2019

Haverhill – Louisa M. “Mary” (Holt) Sullivan, 89, the wife of Daniel J. “Joe” Sullivan, Jr., of 67 years, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, March 1 at the High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill after a period of declining health.

Born in Methuen, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Louisa (Turbin) Holt. She attended Methuen Schools and was a graduate of Edward F. Searles High School, Class of 1947. She grew up in Methuen and loved performing in the St. Monica’s church play group. She married the love of her life in 1952, and settled in Bradford where they raised their children. She and her husband Joe owned and operated Merrimack Valley Investments, Inc. in downtown Haverhill for forty years until their retirement. Mary and Joe hosted wonderful backyard pool parties on hot summer nights after work. These evenings were filled with laughter and memories. They loved going to the beach and driving along the shore road on Sunday afternoons. Mary had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and her dog Tommy.

Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her husband, Daniel J. Sullivan, Jr. of Bradford; a daughter, Kathleen A. (Sullivan) Levasseur and her husband David of Portsmouth, NH; her son, Daniel J. Sullivan III and his wife Stacey (Jackson) Sullivan of Haverhill; a grandson, Bryan Sullivan of Haverhill; a sister, T. Anne Towne of North Andover; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Thomas Daniel Sullivan and her brothers, George and Joseph Holt.

 

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, March 5 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services for Mrs. Sullivan will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill.
