Lucille Alice (Caron) Comeau, 75 December 19, 1947 - July 31, 2023

AMESBURY – Lucille Alice (Caron) Comeau, 75. With sadness, love, and profound gratitude, the family of Lucille “Lu Lu” Comeau announces her passing on July 31, 2023 at her home.

Lu Lu was born on December 19, 1947 in Salem, MA to William and Yvonne Caron. She was a graduate of Saint Chretienne Academy, Marion Court, and earned her teaching degree at Salem State University. She went on to work in the Haverhill Public Schools. She then had the most important job of all, raising her well loved children, where she fostered an atmosphere of love and kindness that included dancing and snapping in the kitchen to John Denver, The Bee Gees, and Anne Murray, while making her famous meatballs, lasagna, Sunday morning pancakes, and pecan pie. She later went on to work for the Newburyport 5 Cents Savings Bank in Salisbury, MA where she adored her colleagues and patrons.

Lu Lu was known for her contagious laugh and infectious smile, making every family function and holiday so memorable, especially Christmas Eve, having everyone wear paper crowns. She was also one of the kindest and most genuine people, sending thoughtful cards and gifts to everyone she met. Playing MahJong, spending time at the beach, going on neighborhood walks with Bob, annual trips to Aruba, and watching British Crime Dramas were some of her favorite pastimes. Lu Lu loved her grandpuppies, Phineas, Murray, Julian, and Leo, she gave them lots of love and extra treats.

Family was everything to Lulu. She will be deeply missed by her dedicated and loving husband, Robert “Bob” Comeau, and her daughters Melissa O’Brien and husband, Mark O’Brien of Newburyport and Kristen Comeau of Amesbury. She will be remembered as the best Memere by her six grandchildren, who were the loves of her life, Brady, Luke, Lucy, Ty, Lottie and Evan. She was the beloved sister of Robert and Jacqueline Caron, Anita and Richard Sullivan, Alma and Leo Tremblay, and Richard Caron. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law, Richard Comeau, and sister and brother in-law, Janice and John Urbanski. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
