HAVERHILL – Marie J. (Duchemin) Martin, 87, a lifelong resident of Haverhill and widow of Joseph Ronald Martin passed away peacefully at the Hannah Dustin Healthcare on November 29, 2024.
Marie was born in Haverhill the daughter of Henry and Victoria (St. Germain) Duchemin. She attended St. Joseph’s Grammar School, and was a graduate of Haverhill High School and then went on to attend Boston Business School. Marie was the owner of Janet’s Dress and Bridal, and worked over the years for Faraci Law Office and AT & T, and was the bookkeeper for the family business, Paul Martin Antiques. Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Along with her husband, she enjoyed going on trips to Cape Cod, and cruises to Bermuda and the Caribbean. Marie loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time together with her big family during the holidays. Marie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Hannah Duston and Harborside Hospice for their care and compassion shown to the family during their time of need.
Marie is survived by her sons Paul H. and Denise (Deveau) Martin, Robert N. and Laura (Varrone) Martin, and Normand G. and Suzanne (Gates) Martin, her brother Albert Duchemin and his wife Judy, all of Haverhill, and her sister Jacqueline A. Johnston of West Newbury. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Nicholas Martin, Jessica Martin, Joseph Martin and his wife Logan, Kelsey Martin-Sandoval and her husband Julio, Kimberly Thistlewood and her husband Tyler, Danielle Potter and her husband Brett, and Michaela Martin; and great grandchildren Radley Martin, Jack Martin, Wells Martin, Yannet Martin, Cesar Sandoval, Malerin Sandoval, Rafael Sandoval, Mateo Sandoval, Harlow Potter, Haven Potter, Halston Potter, Maverick Martin, Emerson Martin, and Beckett Martin; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph R. Martin, and her brothers Henry Duchemin and Alfred Duchemin.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, December 4 from 4PM until 8PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 5 at 10AM at All Saints Parish, Haverhill. Burial to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Haverhill.
