North Andover – Nancy A. (Stevenson) Johnston, 81, wife of the late Donald F. Johnston, passed away February 1, 2019 at home with her loving family by her side.
Born in Tewksbury, she was the daughter of the late George D. and Esther M. (Sanville) Stevenson. She was raised and educated in Tewksbury. Nancy was a partner with her husband and children in the Donald F. Johnston and Company, Inc. of North Andover, building homes in Reading, North Reading, Tewksbury, New Hampshire and Maine. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family at the hunting camp and the house she and her husband Donald built in Maine. She loved to shop and eat out with friends. Nancy was a caregiver, always doing for others and putting everyone else before herself. Facing many challenges throughout her life, she never wavered and instilled in her family a fighting spirit. She will always be remembered as the matriarch of her family and as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Nancy is survived by her grandchildren, Heather L. White, Shawn M. White, Stephanie L. White, James M. Nutton, III, Donald J. Nutton, Ryan P. Nutton, Stacy M. Lytle and Thomas G. Johnston, II; nine great grandchildren; her brother, Thomas Stevenson and Kathy Goss; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Nancy was predeceased by her children, Donna L. Dupuis, Beverly A. Nutton and Thomas G. Johnston.
