Salisbury- Rita (Esposito) Aeed 92, wife of the late John Aeed, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by those who loved her.

Born on February 28, 1930 in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Carmen J. and Rose M. Esposito of Italy. She was raised and educated in Haverhill and lived all her married life in Lawrence.  For the past 27 years she lived with her daughter Linda in Salisbury. Rita was a widow at a young age and returned to school, attending Northern Essex Community College where she obtained an associate degree, graduating with honors. She worked as an administrative assistant at Brockway Smith, Wang and Bull Electronics before retiring. Rita was an avid quilter and great cook. She was loved by all and was known as “Ma” to everyone, A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Rita is survived by her children, Catherine Gove of Portsmouth, NH; Rosanne Cleary and her husband Thomas of Windham, NH; Linda MacDougall and her husband Glen of Salisbury; Paul Aeed and his wife Renee of Portage, MI; Joanne Aeed and her wife Brenda of Portsmouth, NH; brothers, Anthony Esposito of Lowell, AK and Francis Esposito of Sugarland, TX; grandchildren, Jon, Laura, Jennifer, Meagan, Ryan, Matthew, Christina, Alisha and Leila; great grandchildren, Cameron, Josette, Sebastian, Madison, Peyton, Hayden, Grant, Lucas, Julian and Jaxson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband John, she was predeceased by her granddaughter Jena and brothers Robert and Richard Esposito.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, March 12 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be in the United Lebanese Cemetery, 50 Corbett Rd., Lawrence.
