Robert L. LaPorte April 30, 1948 - June 17, 2019

Robert L. LaPorte, 71, husband of Carol J. (Mayo) LaPorte, passed away Monday, June 17 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late William J. LaPorte, Jr. and Anna R. (Callahan) LaPorte. Raised in Haverhill, he attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1966. He was a lifelong machinist and recently retired as a quality control inspector at Microwave Engineering in North Andover. Bob was a big sports fan of the New York Yankees and the Giants. He enjoyed dancing, family gatherings, back yard grilling, and going to the beach. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s games and spending time with them. Bob was an avid snowmobiler for many years with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his loving wife Carol of 36 years, he is survived by his daughter Lisa LaPorte of Hampton, NH; his stepson, Cliff Senter, of Chicago, IL; his two beloved grandchildren, Chelsey Sproul and Connor Sproul; his stepmother, Jacqueline LaPorte, of Hampstead, NH; his cousin, Jerry Carrier and his partner Lili; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Robert E. Mayo, Jr. and his wife, Carlene, of Danville, NH, William I. Mayo, Sr. and his wife, Penny, of Plaistow, NH; Charles “Chuck” Mayo, of Mulberry, FL, Josephine DeSerres and her husband, Norman, of Port Charlotte, FL, Bertha “Bert” Horsch and her husband Ray, of Twin Mt, NH, Judi Mayo of Twin Mt, NH, and nieces and nephews and cousins along with his cat “Joba”. He was predeceased by his brother, William J. LaPorte, III., and brothers-in-law George E. Mayo and his wife, Sandra and Ralph E. Mayo, and sister-in-law Elizabeth “Yibba” and her husband, Clinton “Bub” Senter Jr.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, June 21, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 7:00PM. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 209 W.
