Roland “Buzzy” Pettinati, 74. Born in Stoneham, Massachusetts on October 7th, 1945. Grew up in Medford, Massachusetts and attended Medford High School, Class of ’63. Army National Guard Veteran. Retired from Verizon after over 40 years as a C. O. Technician, during which time he served as a shop steward, and then five years at Market Basket, as a bagger and receiver. A devoted pet owner and avid fan of science fiction and fantasy, he particularly loved Christmastime and 1951’s “A Christmas Carol”, as well as semi-annual summer trips to Nova Scotia. Humorous and generous of spirit, his gruff demeanor was belied by his quiet, kind affection.
Cherished son, brother, and father, preceded by parents Roland A. and Mary E. (Royce) Pettinati, and brother, Joseph Richard. He is survived by wife Anne Patricia (Landry) Pettinati, daughter Patricia Anne Pettinati and her partner Stephen Michael DiPesa; his siblings – Laurence, Janice, Pamela, Patricia, Linda, and Thomas; and his beloved extended family in the United States and Canada.
At the family’s request, there will be no services. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Please visit Comeau Funeral Home on Facebook or www.comeaufuneral.com

June 3, 2020 at 9:57 pmMa chère soeur et Patricia: Mere words cannot express the sadness I feel at the loss of “Buzzy”! He was a good man and always regarded him as my brother, not my brother-in-law. Like you, I loved him and will miss him greatly. I know words seem so shallow at a time like this but know that any anxieties and suffering he may have had are over and he’s touched the face of God! As I said before Anne, you and Patricia are not alone and will keep you in my prayers so that the sorrow you feel will, over time, diminish somewhat. Until we meet in person, I send my deepest sympathies, love and respect!

Cindy and I send our love and prayers to you both. When Trish visits, the mere mention of her Dad, “Buzzy” would bring a smile and a story. It was obvious to all how very proud she is to be the daughter of such a fine man.
We know words will never erase the pain and sorrow that you both must feel but we hope that your cherished memories of “Buzzy” will provide comfort in the days ahead.
All our love, Cindy and John
