Sally A. (Dovey) Bragdon June 12, 1940 - August 11, 2020

Haverhill – Sally A. (Dovey) Bragdon, 80, passed away August 11, 2020 at Penacook Place in Haverhill.

Born in Jamaica Plain to James H. and Sara (Worsencroft) Kelly, she was later adopted by Edward and Marjorie (Staten) Dovey, when she was 13 years old after the death of her parents. At the age of 15, she moved to Haverhill with her family. Sally attended Peabody High School for 2 years and graduated from St. Anne’s Episcopal School in Arlington. Then she went on to receive her Associates Degree from Macintosh Business School in Boston. Sally worked at Hawaiian Isle in Plaistow, NH before her employment as an office administrator for the Tewksbury State Hospital, until her retirement. She was well known for her talent as a cake creator and decorator. Sally made beautiful cakes for her family and friends, for weddings, birthdays and special occasions and everyone she knew loved her cakes. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was an avid reader. Family was everything to Sally, with her big heart and generous spirit, her home had an open door policy, everyone was welcome. All of her children’s friends knew her affectionately as “Mom”. A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will always be remembered for being such a great example for her family.

Sally is survived by her children, Kevin Waddington of Haverhill; Richard Waddington of Haverhill; Keith Waddington and his wife Kimberly of Haverhill; Joseph Bragdon and Corey Gardner of Boston; Marjorie Bragdon of Haverhill; Robin Girard and her husband Ray of Haverhill; Gina Tucci-Young and her husband Darren of Abington; seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many brothers and sisters, Michael Dovey of IL and the late Ken Dovey; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her husband Joseph Bragdon.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, August 14 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will be on Saturday morning in the funeral home at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in Bridge Street Cemetery, Bridge Street, West Newbury.
