Haverhill – Stephen D. Wightman, 70, died on Monday, March 6 in Haverhill, MA.

 

Stephen was born on November 17, 1952,in Heidelberg, Germany to

Richard and Doris Wightman. As an Army brat he lived in many different places growing up including France and installations around the U.S until his father retired in Haverhill.  After graduation from Cardinal Cushing Academy, Stephen worked in banking prior to enlisting in the Army in 1982.  He completed Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a 2LT in the Chemical Corps.  After his Army service he began a career with ATT/Verizon from which he retired in 2010.  His real love was always his music, as a performer and songwriter.  Later he became the author of a number of novels and short stories.

 

Stephen is survived by his brothers Major General Richard Orrin

Wightman Jr. (Ret.) and wife Regina, Clermont, FL; Robert Alan Wightman, Palm Coast,FL; Daniel Craig Wightman, Clermont, FL; seven nieces and nephews, and many grandnieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, brother David Scott Wightman, and sister Janet Ann Sarrette.

    Prayers for the family. We are alway saddened when hearing of the death of someone we know. We lived next door on Cumberland Ave and Steve and my brother Ed would have band practice in our basement. He will be greatly missed.
