EAST HAMPSTEAD, NH –Stephen J. Noury, 70, of East Hampstead, NH, formerly of Haverhill, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 15, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Maureen (Cleary) Noury for 43 years.

Stephen was born in Haverhill on November 1, 1952, to Clare (Donovan) Noury and the late Norman F. Noury. He was a graduate of Pentucket Regional High School, after which he received his bachelor’s degree from Lowell Technological Institute. He worked as the financial controller for Lewis Builders from 1980 until 2000, and then was the owner and operator of The Trailer Place of New England from 2000 until his retirement in 2016. An avid sports and racing fan, Stephen was a member of the American Powerboat Association (APBA) and he also belonged to the South Shore Outboard Association (SSOA). He was the recipient of the Jerry Waldman Memorial Award in 2007 and the Tammy Dawe Advocate Award in 2015. In 2018, he was inducted into the APBA Honor Squadron, which is the highest honor given by the APBA and his proudest achievement.

In addition to his wife and mother, he will be deeply missed by his son David M. Noury and his partner Alyson Hurshman, of Manchester, NH; daughter Monica B. Lynch and her husband Joseph, of Haverhill; his two brothers, Thomas J. Noury and his wife Yvonne, of Lewiston, ME and Timothy J. Noury and his wife Sarah Pillsbury, of Bow, NH; his granddaughter Vaeda P. Noury and a second granddaughter on the way. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Connie Corr and her husband Earl; brother-in-law Stephen Cleary and his wife Linda; brother-in-law Jack Cleary; and sister-in-law Deborah Cleary. In addition to many beloved nieces and nephews, he also leaves behind his boat racing family.

He was predeceased by his father, Norman F. Noury; his father-in-law, J. Edward Cleary; his mother-in-law, Mary (Shanahan) Cleary; and his brother-in-law, Patrick Cleary. They now have the best seats in the house to watch all their favorite sports together.

    Steve was such a Great Guy and will certainly be missed. It is such a shame that he had to get taken from this life so early. I hope he will be racing boats in Heaven. May he Rest in Peace.
