HAVERHILL – Wayne D. Epp, 89, passed away on May 25, 2025 at his home in Haverhill.
Born on a farm in a sod house in Henderson, NE, he was the son of the late Henry B. and Eva (Friesen) Epp. He rode his horse to a one room schoolhouse and eventually enlisted into Alternative Service to his country. He worked in Germany during the rebuilding of Europe where he met his beloved wife Edelgard, to whom he was married for 61 years. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware, and worked for many years as the Right of Way Plans Manager for the Department of Highways in Bear, DE, eventually retiring in 1999. Wayne enjoyed singing in the Mennonite Church choir, as well as traveling, photography, carpentry and puzzle books. Wayne will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter Veronica Epp-Wronka and her husband John of Haverhill, his son Thomas Epp and his wife Dr. Karen Leppel of Wallingford PA, and his grandson Russell Epp-Leppel and partner Quinn Platzer of Norristown, PA. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Edelgard D. (Kuehn) Epp, and his brother Merle L. Epp.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, May 30 at 1:30PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
