Yvon M. Pinet December 19, 1937 - November 17, 2021

Date of Funeral

November 26, 2021

Haverhill – Yvon M. Pinet, 83, husband of the late Lorraine (Grenier) Pinet, passed away November 17, 2021 at Lawrence General Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born in Ville Degelis, Quebec, Canada.  He was second of 9 children of the late Laurier and Rose (Deschesnes) Pinet. He immigrated to the United States in 1962, to Lawrence Massachusetts and went to work in the shoe factories. He met his wife Lorraine and married in 1965 and had one daughter Christine.   Yvon was a very talented finish carpenter who had his own custom cabinet company and worked with his brother building homes.  He was well known for his precise and accurate work, even though he only had a 6th grade education.  From cabinets, to furniture and custom wood floors, his talents are located in many homes in the Merrimack Valley.

Yvon was a wonderful grandfather to Marlayna and Madalye.  Living with them in their home since they were born, their bond was special.  Papa went to every dance recital, basketball, soccer, softball and track event!  He didn’t miss anything when it came to his “girls”.  His pride beamed any time he would speak of them and he was so proud when they graduated from high school and college.  They were absolutely his greatest loves and he was the best Papa.

Yvon enjoyed bowling  and playing pool in local leagues.   He was a passionate Montreal Canadiens fan and loved to tease his granddaughter, an avid Bruins fan about how much better the Canadiennes were.   On any given day you would find him watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and was a huge fan of Survivor.  During the pandemic he took up the hobby of jigsaw puzzles.  He would pride himself on how quickly he could get them done and displayed them all proudly in his home.

Every single morning he would have his coffee at Heavenly Donuts in Plaistow with his “buddies”, chatting about the day’s events and greeting all the regular customers.  Everyone who frequente Heavenly Donuts,  including the employees, knew and loved Papa.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Yvon was predeceased by his wife Lorraine (Grenier) Pinet, his sisters, Noelline Lebel and Jocelyne Landry and sisters in law Monique Pinet and Claudette Pinet and brother in law Gerard Lebel.

He leaves behind his daughter Christine A. Pinet-Buco and her husband G. Mauro Buco of Haverhill; two beloved grandchildren, Marlyana Buco and Madalyne Buco. His brothers, Jean Guy Pinet, his partner Mimi, Ghislain Pinet, his partner Sheila, Gerald Pinet and Claude Pinet and his wife Lorraine.  His sisters, Geraldine Dulac and her husband Jean Guy and Nicole Landry and her husband Gilles and his brother in law and good friend, Jean Landry and his partner Anne Dube, along with many nieces and nephews.
