Lincoln D. Smith

Amesbury – Lincoln D. Smith, 53, of Amesbury formerly of Newburyport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 1 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Salem, MA, he was the son of Sara (Hartzell) Smith and the late Donald E. Smith. Raised and educated in Newburyport, he was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1983. He then continued his education at Fitchburg State College earning his Bachelors Degree in English. Mr. Smith was employed in sales for most of his career. He was a fan of all New England sports teams and enjoyed music, travel, the local beaches, sailing and had an interest in studying his family genealogy. He was proud of the fact that he had been selected as an extra in a few locally produced movies. A devoted family man, he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his nieces and his friends.

Linc is survived by his mother, Sally Smith of Amesbury, his sister Jenna Smith, of Newburyport, his two cherished nieces; Sarah J. Sullivan, and Meghan L. Sullivan, also of Newburyport, several cousins, aunts and uncles, and friends.
