Marilyn M. (Murphy) Hefferan

Atkinson, NH – Marilyn M. Hefferan, 86, wife of the late Robert Hefferan, passed away November 24, 2019 at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ann (Nolan) Murphy. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1951. Marilyn was a much loved secretary for 13 years, from 1989 until her retirement in 2010, at St. James Church in Haverhill. She also worked at the former Haverhill Electric Company, where she met her husband in the 1950’s. They raised their family in Haverhill until 1966 when they moved to Plaistow, NH. Marilyn liked to read and do puzzles. With her family she spent summers at Ossipee, NH on the lake and traveled throughout the United States and Canada. With her strong faith, she was devoted to her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Peggy Ann Maglio and her husband Frank of Hales Location, NH; Kevin Hefferan and his wife Cathy of Atkinson, NH; Keith Hefferan of Seabrook, TX and Bryan Hefferan of Corpus Christi, TX; her brother, Leo Murphy of Haverhill; two adored grandchildren, Adam and Luke Maglio; sister in law, Cora Mae Murphy of Newburyport; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Robert F. Hefferan, brothers James, Edward, William, Richard and Joseph Murphy and sister, Marguerite Murphy.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, November 29 at 11:00AM at St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill.
