David E. Corthell

Haverhill – David E. Corthell, 60, partner of Carolyn Wennerberg for 20 years, passed away September 30, 2021 at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill with his loving family by his side.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of Joann (Warner) Corthell and the late Sidney Corthell. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Essex Agricultural and Horticulture High School, Class of 1979. He managed the grounds of local golf courses. A talented horticulturist and landscape architect from walls to managing grounds, he took his love of outdoors into his career. David enjoyed hiking, snowshoeing, golfing and all activities outdoors. He was a big sports fan, especially Syracuse Basketball. David frequently attended live music concerts and just last month saw the Eagles. Known as a great cook and dancer, his family was his greatest joy and loved spending time with them. David will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother Joann and Carolyn, David is survived by his children, Curtis L. Corthell and his wife Elizabeth of Ipswich; Sarah E. Roche and her husband John, Jr. of Haverhill; step daughter, Samantha L. Wennerberg of Haverhill; two loved grandchildren, Jack Roche and Emmett Roche; his siblings, Scott Corthell and his wife Michelle of Plattsburg, NY; Susan Brewster and her husband Edward of Haverhill; Keith Corthell and his wife Andrea of Kingston, NH; Richard Corthell; Charron Dean of Lusby MD; Daniel Corthell and his wife Becky of TX; Ann Marie Corthell and David Spencer; his former wife, Katherine (Bitner) Corthell; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, October 5 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30AM in the St. John the Baptist Church, 110 Lincoln Avenue, Haverhill.     Dear Orietta So sorry to hear about Mom. I wanted to be there today. For you but I had an unavoidable event. I remember her coming into the hospital and showing us her sewing books, She was very proud of you. Take care Again my sympathy to you and your family Always mary
