METHUEN – Beatriz Santiago, 98, formerly of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at Lawrence General Hospital.
Born on July 29, 1926, in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, Beatriz was the daughter of Lorenzo and Ramona (Muñiz) Santiago. She moved to New York in 1953 before settling in Massachusetts in 1975, where she built a loving home and strong community. She is the mother of Roel, Vladimir, John Gonzalez and Ferdinand Rodriguez.
A devoted homemaker, Beatriz was known for her talent in sewing and crocheting, and for her incredible cooking that brought everyone together. She had a warm, easy sense of humor and a deep love for sharing stories and coffee with those around her. The heart of her family, she helped raise her grandchildren and was affectionately known as “Abuela” to many beyond her own.
Beatriz is survived by her sons, Roel Gonzalez and his wife Linda of Maine, and Ferdinand Rodriguez of Hudson, NH. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Lidia Ramirez of Puerto Rico, 14 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Juan Santiago, Rogelio Santiago, Eloino Santiago, and Freda Santiago.
Beatriz will be remembered for her selflessness, her strength, her unwavering faith, and the joy she found in caring for others.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, July 14 from 4PM until 7PM, followed by a funeral home chapel service at 7PM at the Kevin B.
