Richard D. “Dick” Kearns, 84

Methuen – Richard D. “Dick” Kearns, 84, passed away on October 2, 2025 at his home in Methuen.

Dick was born in Medford; he was the son of William John and Sara Fern (Douglas) Kearns and was a graduate of Gamaliel Bradford Senior High School, Class of 1959. He then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Providence College and worked for many years as a facilities manager for Raytheon Corp. Dick loved and lived on his boat “Shamrock” for many years. He enjoyed reading, history, golfing, tennis, and skiing. He was known for his love of travel, photography, and corny jokes. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather and uncle and will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.

Dick is survived by his three daughters Karen Davis of Almont, CO, Linda Wells of Haverhill, and Gail Canada and her husband Casey of Belgrade, MT; grandchildren; Courtney Gemmill and her husband Kyle, of Greenville, NC, Garrett Wells of Sandown, NH, Jacob Davis and his wife Courtney of  Ladson, SC, and Zachary Davis and his wife Heather of Claremont, NH, and; sister in law Monica Kearns, MD; and his two nieces and two nephews.

He was predeceased by parents his William John and Sara Fern (Douglas) Kearns, and his brother William Kearns.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, October 8th from 4PM until 7PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Thursday, October 9th at Sacred Hearts Parish, South Main St. Bradford.     My condolences to the family and friends. I knew Dick through many years at Raytheon and he was good friends with my Dad, Dave, who often golfed with him. He was always a gentleman with an infectious smile and laugh.
