Charles Hillner III, 72, of Haverhill, died Wednesday, September 21, at home after being stricken ill suddenly.Born in Haverhill, September 5, 1939, he was the son of the late, Charles Hillner Jr., and Mildred E. (MacGregor). He attended Haverhill public schools and was a Graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1957. An Electrician by trade, Mr. Hillner spent his career as a contractor throughout the Merrimack Valley and Boston area.He leaves two sons, Charles Hillner IV, of Haverhill, NH, and Timothy B. Hillner, of Atkinson, NH, a brother, Lawrence M. Hillner, of Manchester, NH, eight grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Stephen D. Hillner, on September 20, 2011, a brother, Christopher A. Hillner, and sister, Gretchen E. Pear.Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service for Charles and his son, Stephen, to be held on Sunday, September 25, at 1:00 PM in the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Stephen D. Hillner Memorial Fund, C/O TD Bank, 280 Main St. Groveland, MA 01834.
