Philip Grant Hiltz III, 69, of Haverhill, formerly of Boston, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at his home after a lengthy illness.Born and educated in Boston, he was the son of the late, Philip G. Jr. and Anne (Bermingham) and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School.Mr. Hiltz was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving his country in the Marine Corps. He was employed as a Technical Repairman for the former Lucent Corp. in Watertown and after his retirement he relocated to Haverhill where he has lived for the past 10 years.He leaves four daughters, Maura E. Hiltz, of Roslindale, Lynn M. Builes, of Hicksville, N.Y., Hailey Hiltz, of Mansfield, Adrienne Hiltz, of Boston, a son, Philip C. Hiltz, Derry, N.H., five brothers, Arthur and James, both of Halifax, John, of Quincy, William, of Norton, Peter, of Carver, a sister, Anne Marie Gawlinski, of Plymouth, several nieces and nephews, and his extended family of brother Veterans and Staff at the Northeast Outreach Veterans Center with whom he lived. He was predeceased by a son, Richard.ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., (Route 125) Haverhill. Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. Graveside committal services with military honors will be held on Friday May 15, at 9:30 a.m. at the Massachusetts National Veterans Cemetery, Bourne.
