Frank H. “Cowboy” Flanders, Jr., 67, of Haverhill, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill after a lengthy illness.Born and educated in Laconia, N.H., he was the son of the late, Frank and Jeanne (Edwards) Flanders.A free spirit, Frank traveled the country throughout his life as he was employed as a truck driver.When he wasn’t on the road he worked as a prep cook for various restaurants in the New England area, including the Mount Washington Hotel.He leaves his cousin, the Honorable Donald H. Flanders, of Laconia, N.H., and many friends, including his caretaker and guardian, Mrs. Rita Groves and family of Bradford.ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday (today) at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Route 125), Haverhill, from 4 to 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill.
