Mary A. (Manetta) Slabczynski, 78, of Haverhill, formerly of Lawrence, died June 10, at the Holy Family Hospital after a lengthy illness.Born and educated in Lawrence, she was the daughter of Peter and Antonetta (Fiato) Manetta.Mrs. Slabczynski was employed in the heath care industry, working in housekeeping for local hospitals and nursing homes.To Mary nothing came before family, she was a kind, loving, and generous, mother and grandmother. In her younger days she enjoyed horseback riding, listening to a wide variety of music and dancing. She loved animals and cherished time spent with family.The widow of Adolf J. Slabczynski, she leaves her loving companion with whom she lived Timothy Martinez, three sons David A. Bryant, of Salem, MA, John A. Slabczynski and his wife, Linda, of Newton, NH, and Anthony J. Slabczynski and his fiancé, Michelle Goudreault, of Haverhill, a daughter Helen M. Ormond-Slabczynski, of East Hampstead, NH, daughter in law, Patricia Bryant, of Revere, MA , six grandchildren Heather, Elizabeth, and Shayna Bryant, and Natalie, John, and Paige Slabczynski, two sisters Gertrude Whipple, of Methuen, and Rosemary DiFruscia, of Groton, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, Joseph E. and Paul D. Bryant, a daughter, Rosemary Bryant, and brother, Herbert Eggert.Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Friday from 4 until 7 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home following visitation at 7:00 PM. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
